Learning to Earn
It is an absolute necessity that you are going to have to learn to earn before you will be able to earn any kind of income that would be considered substantial.
The training most companies put you through will enable you to learn the basics of their business so you can earn a get by income at the very best.
All of your other training is going to have to come from your own previous experience or from education and experience you gain from your own pursuit of excellence.
Let us look at this from a little different perspective than you may be looking at it now. You may or may not have already come to this foregoing conclusion. The truth is no matter who you work for you are actually self employed. You may have mistakenly thought you work for a company but this is not really the case.
You see in America with our free enterprise system you have the freedom to work for any one who is willing to hire you or else you work for your self. But even if you are working for a company it is by your own choosing and is just the current way you are choosing to earn money for your own or your families savings, bills and personal needs.
But make no mistake about it, you are in charge and may spend time working for one, two or even three companies if you so desire. You have to look at it as if you are paying them a percentage of your earnings for the location you work at, the customer base, the product, the advertising and yes even the management of the concern. You do this so you have prospects and the business structure to be able to earn your living doing whatever it is that you are doing. What is left over is the part that is your profit. (Your wages, retirement, commissions or all three)
Now that you can see that you really are actually in business for yourself is it not time that you made the most of what you are paying out all of these hard earned dollars for.
It is true that you are either progressing and getting better at what you are doing or else you are getting behind. In the real world, no one stands still. After all this is the day and age of dynamic changes in product, market and working conditions.
By all means take advantage of every learning opportunity that you can. There are not just hundreds or thousands of learning opportunities on the Internet to learn to do what ever it is that you do better. There are actually millions of places you can go to learn to do your job better. Now granted not all of them are free but anything that puts more money in your pocket with less effort so that it is more enjoyable has got to be worth investing a few bucks in your self. I am sure you agree.
Now the next thing is this. In my opinion probably the most unproductive sin out there today is going to great effort and sometimes great expense to learn all of these things that will really put the bacon on your plate and never actually use them.
I can now hear you asking yourself now just where are some good free and inexpensive ways I can learn to be a better sales person or just plain better at what ever else I do.

There you find a lot of tips and helpful articles and other Websites that could benefit anyone. The Selling Fool is a work in progress so from time to time you will see new ideas that I have put on the pages or links to other Websites that feel would be very beneficial.
This month is the month that Independence day (The Fourth of July) falls on so why not decide to become more independent yourself and triple the earnings that you made last year no matter what they were. That is my plan and on my next Sales and Selling blog posting I will show a very simple way to do this. (At least in Concept)
