Watch Out For The Heat Index and Remember Always Safety First

Due to the recent all time record heat wave we are experiencing here in the US and also in most of the other parts of the northern hemisphere including Russia and the far east every outside salesperson needs to be on their toes.

Sometimes people fail to realize that even if they are in the sales profession they still need to remember that their safety comes first.

Right now with the heat becoming unbearable in all of the lower 48 states every salesperson who is out canvassing or making calls either door to door or on the road has to pay close attention to the heat index. This is a combination of the actual temperature and the dew point. So that on a given day the temperature may be in the mid nineties but the heat index can be as high as 110 degrees.

The weather man usually says today the temperature is at 94 but it feels like 110. When this happens it becomes of the utmost urgency to stay hydrated.

This means to take plenty of cool water in your cooler and pack it with some ice so it stays cool all day. When you get thirsty it means you are already
DE-hydrated so sip some water from time to time to avoid thirst and you will not get DE-hydrated which is the first stage of heat stroke.

If you have no water and you get thirsty and then kind of go into a delirium and start getting dizzy and faint you have to cool down and get to the emergency room. It is that serious at that point because to do nothing is to risk having a heat stroke which can be fatal.

Don't sit in the car in the sun without the air conditioning running. You, just like a small animal or child can get a fatal heat stroke in actually just a few minutes from sitting in a car with out some kind of breeze and all the windows rolled down. Much smarter is to just go wait in the shade outside the car and keep drinking plenty of water.

If you collect an insurance debt or do some kind of sales route everyday be sure and check on all of your elderly customers as you make your rounds. The risk to the elderly is very high due to the high heat conditions and also due to mental impairment as they may not realize what kinds of risk they are taking not running the AC or fans. So just check and make sure they are alright while you are making deliveries and presentations. You might just save someone's life.

Also if you are a manager or team leader be sure and bring this subject up in your morning sales meetings as it is very important.

This subject was a little off our normal conversation but I feel it is very important as you have to continue to live and stay out of the hospital if you expect to make more sales and support your family.

The Late Bloomers Guide To Making It In America

The Late Bloomers
Guide
To
Making It in America

Even if You are a late bloomer it is still very possible to make it and make it big in America.

True not everybody starts out as a complete success from the get go. Most of us have to develop a strategy of how we are going to go about becoming successful.

Since most people, late bloomers or not, are in this group it makes sense to do your best to become successful as early in life as you can?

Some folks though, it seems no matter how hard they try, just don’t get it together at an early age.

These folks have come to be known as late bloomers. Being a late bloomer is no sin in fact some of the most successful people in America were late bloomers.

The colonel Sanders was way up in years before he got Kentucky Fried Chicken started and successful.

So in essence in most cases it is better late than never.

Me personally I must admit was never just an outstanding success as far as making millions of dollars or some great discovery but I did manage to pay off all of my debts and save a little in the process of becoming totally debt free.

Believe me it is much easier not owing any one anything than it ever was trying to pay two car notes and a mortgage while having 21 open credit accounts in addition to all of the normal utilities and such to contend with.

Although I got smart and paid off everybody and everything years and years ago I still see other folks who have just not got the message yet.

I can tell from watching the news and reading some of the different financial magazines that I take that the recession is now taking its toll and people are much more aware and now saving more than they ever have before.

They are also buying homes they can afford and not just hoping that they can pay the mortgage on some luxurious mansion that while not over priced is way out of line for most people with a regular pay check.

Common sense will always rule and that is in all things I might add, not just the economy.

As I was going through the struggle of trying to make ends meet and pay off all of these bills I just mentioned, I was in the sales profession.

Thanks to getting a good check now and then I was able to get all of this behind me.

Now let’s consider your present situation. Regardless if you are a late bloomer or not if you are between jobs and need to get going again then I might just convince you to go ahead and make something of yourself. If you are a late bloomer just like me then this advice is even more important.

I will tell you that there is a lot of help out there if you will just seek it out.

I would sit down and get my resume in order and write the best cover letter you can to be able to get this done.

You can put the keywords “free resume” and “free cover letter” in Google or any search engine for that matter and come up with hundreds of samples and ideas to be able to put together a top notch resume and cover letter with out spending a dime.

Be sure and make a list of all of the people you have known in the past to be able to get together a worth while list to send your resume to.

You can check all of the usual places by putting the key word employment into the search engine.

When you are researching for free resume and free cover letter advice you might also search for free interview advice.

If you do all of this I am sure you will come up with some good interviews and possibilities.

When you are looking for a job you have to sell the prospective employer on the idea of hiring you. Human resources is going to be asking a lot of questions and you need to have already gone over the answers.

You also need to research these companies you are applying to so that you can make sense when you are trying to explain why you want to go to work for them and more importantly what you can do for them now.

Finding a job in today’s economy is a tough job as a lot people are finding out but it only makes sense to do a little preparation before the hunt begins.

The good thing about being a salesperson is the fact that if industry ever needed good salespeople it is right now.

Hope this will give you some positive insight to help you or some of your friends and relatives to be able to find gainful employment.
